Background checks for prospective employees were again a topic at the Lebanon-Laclede County Library Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday evening at the library.
The library board had approved in September Checkr’s Essential option for Director Tina Chaney to use to check prospective employees. The directive for Chaney to propose a background check service had come after her abrupt dismissal of a new employee earlier in September.
Chaney said during Tuesday’s meeting that she had recently used the service on a new employee after the new employee had started and acknowledged she was to run a background check beforehand. President Mark Campbell directed her to receive the necessary information for background checks up front.
