Laclede County has installed a new weather station that is expected to improve the area’s weather warning system.
Randy Rowe, director the Laclede County Office of Emergency Management, said the Davis Weather station is the best available. He said that after deciding on the equipment, the next decision for the Office was where it should be installed.
He said the decision to locate the station near Conway High School was based on the fact that 90-plus percent of area storms follow the I-44 corridor and hit the county somewhere close to Conway.
