Lebanon YMCA is hosting its first Senior Prom this Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., titled “Under the Stars.” The event is geared towards those age 50 and older, but organizer Jeremy Garner joked that those younger residents who feel they qualify as senior citizens should attend as well.
With inspiration taken from the Buffalo YMCA’s iteration of the event, Ozarks Regional YMCA program director Shawna Bradley hopes that the free event will provide an opportunity for older residents to be active in the community.
“We just thought, ‘There’s nothing going on in Lebanon like this, so why not bring it here?’” Bradley said.
