Contract for new 911 center approved

The Laclede County Commission on Thursday approved a contract for construction of a new 911 center for the Sheriff’s office. The commission awarded the bid for the project to DeWitt & Associates Construction of Springfield. DeWitt was the low bidder for the project at $4,674,000. The contract will be executed after it is approved by DeWitt. The project will be paid for with American Rescue Plan Act funds. Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst said the project will be built in front of the Sheriff’s Office near 3rd Street and will take about a year to construct. For more on this story see Wednesday's LCR.
