Cross country teams start off strong

It was a solid start to the season for the Lebanon High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams over the weekend, according to head coach Josh Smith. The girls’ team placed 7th out of 38 teams on Saturday at the Richard Clark Invitational at Bolivar while the boys’ team finished 14th out of 55 teams. Individual medalists included Abigail Tague for Lebanon (4th out of 337 varsity runners) who finished the 5k race with a time of 19:11. In the JV race, Smith said two runners earned medals in Aleeya Korthals (6th of 110 runners) and Brynn Kasten (23rd of 110 runners). “It was a tremendous job by the LHS cross country team (on Saturday),” Smith explained. “It was our first meet, and we had a ton of personal bests and learned some valuable lessons.” Below are the other times and scores from the Lebanon girls’ runners: Jenna Massey (55th) – 21:10 Jordan Eastburn (69th) – 21:23 Milly Hough (84th) – 21:46 Kaitlynne Gonzalez (111th) – 22:13 Page Knight (157th) – 23:11 The boys’ team had the following varsity runners finish in the following order: Liam Allen (53rd) – 17:12 James Peregoy (79th) – 17:29 Grant Klemin (92nd) – 17:44 Landon Dimock (102nd) – 17:52 Easton Starnes (165th) – 18:35
