JAMES P. "JIM" HILDEBRAND

James P. “Jim’’ Hildebrand, 71, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, in Lebanon.

He was born July 6, 1952, in Niangua, Mo. to Paul Ladrew and Ruth Cheek Hildebrand.

On March 28, 1970, he was united in marriage to Loretta Sherrer.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ladrew and Ruth (Cheek) Hildebrand.

Jim worked hard to provide for his family. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He worked for the City of Lebanon and also as a grave digger for local cemeteries. He worked as a security guard at VF Factory Outlet and most recently as a bus driver and trainer for Joel. E Barber School System. In his free time, Jim enjoyed reading his Bible, as long as his sight allowed. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, but especially baseball. He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves fan. He also enjoyed watching Live P.D. However, time spent and laughter shared with his family is what he treasured most.

He was a member of Second Freewill Baptist Church.

Jim is survived by his wife Loretta; one daughter, one son; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service for James P. “Jim’’ Hildebrand will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 at Second Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Douglas officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Stephens Cemetery. There is no scheduled visitation.
