Pageant, fireworks, concert open this year's Laclede County Fair

Saturday’s Community Night kicked off the week-long Laclede County Fair with pageantry, Sunday’s Church Youth Night provided a sermon, Monday brought exhibitors of all manner of livestock onto the fairgrounds, and Tuesday saw seniors arrive to learn about topics of interest at the civic center. Exhibitor Kylie Meeker brought a pen full of rabbits to the fair on Monday, and they were all named after foods except for one with stained fur that has evaded her naming attempts thus far. She hoped to win big so that she could continue to save up for a Flemish Giant, an appropriately named breed of rabbits. For more on this story, see Wednesday's LCR.
