RONALD E. MCNEELEY

Posted

Ronald “Ronnie” Edward McNeeley was born February 16, 1940, to Clyde McNeeley and Susan Virginia Johnson McNeeley in Northwest Missouri. He passed away in his home near Grovespring on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the age of eighty-three years, ten months and twenty-seven days.

Ronnie grew up in Northwest Missouri and had some health issues that caused him to experience a “not so normal” childhood. As a matter of fact, he had to learn how to walk again. These challenges he had early on his life made him strong and resilient.

On February 8, 1964, Ronnie was married to his wife and best friend, Treva June Peters, and to this union five children were born. Treva meant the world to him and as the years marched by, he would eventually call her “Grandma”. They enjoyed fifty-seven years of marriage before her passing on May 29, 2021.

In 1972, he moved his family to the Lebanon area where Ronnie was employed as a welder, building boat docks and buildings. He was very good at his craft and he enjoyed it very much.

In addition to Treva, Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Trena Williams; a son, Floyd McNeeley; and his brother, Robert McNeeley.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Tanner and husband Ken of North Port, Florida; two sons, David McNeeley and his wife Pamala of Grovespring, and Lonnie McNeeley and his wife Angie of Lebanon; twelve grandchildren, Derome McCloud, Oleta Anderson, Reno McElroy, Michael McNeeley, Kayleigh Langley, Jessica Marcum, Robert Beville, Jeremiah McNeeley, Justin McNeeley and his wife Tashaina, Craig McNeeley, Ben Mansher and Jack Mahnken; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Ronnie never met a stranger and was active in the United Kennel Club. He enjoyed coon and rabbit hunting and training Beagles to be hunting dogs.

Above all, he loved his family. They were everything to him and he looked forward to spending time with them whenever possible. Ronnie was a loving family man and caring friend. His loss leaves a large void in their family, but they will hold tight to the wonderful memories they made with him.
