Carl “Monk’’ Barker, 70, of Lebanon, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, in Lebanon.

He was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Laclede County, Mo. to Lowell L. and Velma F. Moore Barker.

Those preceding him in death include his parents, siblings, Kenneth Barker, Levell Barker, Helen Sien and her husband Orville; his brothers-in-law, Jerry Bledsoe, Frank Baranowski and Gene Vaughn; a sister-in-law, Betty Barker; nieces and nephews, Gary, Donna, Tim and Stephanie.

Monk was a car dealer in Lebanon for many years. Whether selling, rebuilding, or working, Monk loved cars, especially Lincolns. He also loved car racing and was Point Champion at Midway Raceway.

Monk was saved on March 5, 2023, at Grace Calvary Church.

He is survived by four children, Candy Dame and her husband Brad of Lebanon, Cassie Waterman and her husband Franklin of Stoutland, Chanceton Barker and his wife Cara of Linn Creek and Whitney Hage of Crocker; siblings, Dale Barker and his wife Brandy, Lester Barker and his wife Becky, Paul Barker, Don Barker and his wife Nadine, Norma Bledsoe, Keith Barker, Wilma Vaughn, Nina Dampier, Janice Marshall, Wilma Barker and Chris Baranowski, all of Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Devon Offutt, Jaiden Schmitz and her husband Cade, Brady Barker, Presley Hart, Daxton Barker, Maggie Waterman, Hazeleigh Waterman, Silas Newcomb; one great-grandchild, Truett; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Carl “Monk’’ Barker will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Kelly Ripley and James Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation was at 6 p.m. Friday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
