SFC (Ret.) George Francis Cressel, 82, of Laquey, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in his home in Laquey.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl of the home in Laquey; five children, Naomi Abraham of Raveena, Ohio; Nannette Lobe of Columbia, Neurine Schomer of Caddo, Okla., Natcha Frazier (Brad) of Columbia, and Noah Cressel (Amanda) of Laquey; two step-children, Dwight Wilson (Stephanie) of St. Robert and Aphrodite Wilson of Hampton, Va.; eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Lance Cressel of Fort Worth, Texas; his twin sisters, Mary Lou Peterson (Bob) of Eden Prairie, Minn. and Mary Ann Pech (Jim) of Harlington, Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, in Maranatha Baptist Church in St. Robert. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at noon in the Maranatha Baptist Church. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of George Cressel and may be left at the funeral home
