Lebanon Police to work with Compass on mental health issues

Posted
The Lebanon City Council has approved an agreement with Compass Health to collaborate more closely with the city’s police department on drug addiction, mental health and other issues. The action came at the Council’s regular meeting Monday night. Police Chief Jerry Harrison said the arrangement comes from the Police Department’s recognition that mental illness issues require a significant commitment of police resources. “This is an effort to work with our local behavioral health liaison to try to avoid arresting our way out of a problem and connect people with the help they need,” Harrison told the Council.
