SIAH THOMAS DAVIS

Posted

Siah Thomas Davis began his earthly time on May 28, 1937, as a son to George and Ethel (Maxwell) Davis in Spring Creek, Missouri. His earthly time came to a close on December 11, 2023, but he will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him. Siah has traveled many roads in the State of Missouri and now has traveled a spiritual road to be with his Lord.

Siah grew up in Rolla, Missouri, and graduated from Rolla High School in 1955. Siah was united in marriage to Joan Broccard on September, 20, 1958, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rolla. Their family grew initially with two sons, Kevin (wife Ellie) and Keith (wife Yvonne), then followed by grandchildren Sarah (husband Jake Cook), Seth (wife Darian), Lacey (husband Adam Carnes), Kerriann, and Kaitlyn, and finally followed by great-grandchildren Jaycie, Ridge, and Granger.

Siah joined the Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class before leaving that service. Siah soon joined another service in 1961 with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. At his initial duty station in Lebanon, he was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant. His promotion to Lieutenant took him and Joan back to Rolla (Troop I), and his final promotion was Captain of Troop G in Willow Springs. Along the way he collected enough college courses in criminal justice and traffic management for an Associate’s degree. He retired in 1992 with 31 years of service.

Siah was an avid outdoorsman with hunting his first love, followed closely by fishing. He also enjoyed raising cattle, traveling, gardening, and telling humorous stories and jokes - plus a prank or two. Siah was very fond and proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Pomona Christian Church, a deacon of Southern Heights Christian Church in Lebanon, and a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge in St. James, Missouri.

Siah was preceded in death by his wife; father; mother; and three siblings, Ava Colvin, Carl Davis, and Arthur Davis. He is survived by the previously mentioned children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; by his sister-in-law Betty Davis; his brother-in-law Gene Broccard (wife Patricia); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Yarber Mortuary, 814 E. Main St, Willow Springs, Mo. 65793.
