Beulah Hammer, 92, of Stoutland died Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, in Lebanon.
She was born April 24, 1931, in Berryville, Ark. to William Earl and Clara Johnson Jones.
On Dec. 16, 1950, she was united in marriage to James Hammer.
Those preceding her in death include her parents; her husband James on July 23, 1991; four brothers, Claude, Lawrence, Ralph and Clyde Jones; one son, David James Hammer; and two sons-in-law, John Bechtel and Gene Lyon.
Beulah was a devoted wife and mother. She spent the majority of her working life tending to the needs of the farm. She was very artistic and was an avid quilter. She was on the board at the Stoutland Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling. However, her most treasured times were those spent with her family.
She was a member of High Point Baptist Church.
Beulah is survived by four daughters, Judy Lyon of Richland; Janis Amos and her husband Mike of Stoutland; Shirley Flashman and her husband Harvey of East Bridgewater, Mass. and Sherrie Huey and her husband Eddie of Bentonville, Ark. daughter-in-law, Sharron Hammer of Stoutland; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Beulah L. Hammer were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Matthew Lyon officiating. There will be a burial at a later date at High Point Cemetery in Stoutland. At her request, following the service, her body is to be cremated. Visitation was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions may be made in memory of Beulah to High Point Cemetery or Stoutland Senior Center and donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
