David K. “Dave’’ Herman, 71, of Lebanon, died Sept. 12, 2023, in Lebanon.

He was born Dec. 6, 1951, in Syracuse, N.Y. to Will and Mary Herman.

On May 23, 1976, he was united in marriage to Lori Copeland.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mary Herman and brother, Fritz.

He was a motorcycle mechanic, musician, photographer, a skilled craftsman and recently built his own home. He was the first certified arborist in northern Arizona and had his own tree care company for many years. He later became a paramedic and served the community for over 15 years. In 2012 he moved to Lebanon where he continued his career as a first responder. Dave was a hard worker and was a perfectionist in whatever he put his hand to. He was known for his wit and dry sense of humor. He was a strong man of faith and conviction. He loved Jesus with all his heart and strived to be a Godly example to his children and grandchildren. He served as an elder in his church, Lebanon First Assembly. In 2020, Dave went to Uganda with a team to help build churches. It was an experience that left a lasting impression on him.

He was a member of Lebanon First Assembly.

Dave is survived by his wife Lori of the home; his children: Brooke (Herb) of Chino Valley, Ariz.; Graham (Dana) of Little Rock, Ark.; Addison of Omaha, Neb.; Isabelle of Springfield; Cameron of Rolla; grandchildren: Rachel, Aubrey, Laiya, Liam, Sophia, Lincoln and Shelbie; and Dave’s brother Allen of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

A Celebration of Life for Dave Herman will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at Lebanon First Assembly with Pastor Bryan Beittel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Lebanon First Assembly for missions. Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, Mo. 65536, or to the church.
