Posted

Edna Mae Christiansen of Lebanon, Missouri passed away in her home on Sunday, October 1, 2023. She was born near Decaturville, Missouri to James M. Rogers and Viola Claypool on April 7, 1937.

She lived in the Lebanon area her entire life and was a graduate of Lebanon High School. On July 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to her true love and best friend, Robert James Christiansen. Together they welcomed two wonderful children to their home. They lived in various locations, as Edna Mae followed her husband from place to place as he served in the military.

Edna Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved grandson, Patrick; a sister, Betty Lou Morrison; and two brothers, Ernest and Bobby Lee (Pete).

She is survived by her husband, Robert Christiansen of the home; her daughter, Susan Duncan and husband, Richard of Lebanon; her son, Sam Christiansen and wife Curee of Lebanon; four grandchildren, Ben, Jenny, Bobby and Seth; six great-grandchildren, Devin, Rory, Ryker, Lillian, Kinslee and Kayleigh.

Edna was a Christian who confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Her faith was a source of comfort in times of sorrow. And now, as we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is with the Lord, and she is at peace.

Edna was a matriarch, the heart of her family. Her love for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren was boundless. Her loss is deeply felt by her family, and she will be so missed. Yet, we know that she lives on in them, in their memories, in their love for each other.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 5023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Reeves officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Jude Hospital and donations may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
