Eugene Dowden, 96, of Manes was born June 12, 1927, near Manes to Alfred “Al’’ and Amanda (Crisp) Dowden and died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023. He is survived by his son, Gene Dowden and his wife Delesa of Manes; three daughters, Connie Buttram of Manes; Carla Long and her husband Steve of Hartville, and Barbara Francis and her husband Charles of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2023, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove. Burial will be in Evening Shade Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Evening Shade Cemetery.
