SFC (Ret) Freddie DeVere Hayward, Sr., 88 of Crocker, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, in the Dixon Health & Rehab of Dixon.

SFC (Ret) Hayward is survived by his wife Patsy Hayward of the home; two children: Freddie DeVere Hayward, Jr. (Anemonie) of Waynesville, and Susan Gayle Clark of Crocker; seven grandchildren, Alex, Medina, Dyvine, Aaron, Ashley, Rebecca, and Shane; eight great-grandchildren, Tori, Gage, Beau, Harlowe, Brooklyn, Madysen, Gracey, and Colton; two brothers, Melvin Hayward and James Hayward, both of the state of Iowa; three sisters, Winona Mahoney, Julia Vinvant, and Barbara Cannon (Melvin), all of the state of Iowa; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of SFC (Ret) Hayward and may be left at Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert.
