SFC (Ret) Gene Thomas Stockdale, 71, of Dixon, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield.
He is survived by his son, Steven Stockdale (Loren) of Devil’s Elbow; seven grandchildren, Damon, Ethan, Bella, Starla, Ashley, David, and Christopher; two brothers, Kenneth Stockdale (Sue) of Newburg, and Gregg Stockdale (Alicia) of Dixon; two nieces, Jaime Eriewine (Dustin) and Katherine Brookshire (Bradley); a nephew, Troy Stockdale; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, in Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville/St. Robert. Burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville. Visitation will be held from noon until service time at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Gene Stockdale, and may be left at the funeral home.
