Gregory Gene “Greg’’ Lawson, 63, of Lebanon, died Monday, July 29, 2024, in Springfield.

He was born Feb. 11, 1961, in Lebanon, Mo. to Tommy Joe and Donna Marie Knight Lawson.

On June 21, 2003, he was united in marriage to Kelli Bryant.

Those preceding him in death include his father, Tommy; his paternal and maternal grandparents; and his uncle, Bill Lawson.

Greg graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1979. After graduation, he began working for the City of Lebanon, where he remained for sixteen years. Following his employment with the city he became the district manager for Public Water Supply District No. 3, where he was employed for thirty-three years. He was planning to retire next year. In his free time, Greg enjoyed fishing, especially when the crappie were biting, hunting with friends and playing softball. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Football and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. He loved his life and deeply loved the people in it. Time spent and laughter shared with those he loved was his greatest joy.

He was saved in June of 1984.

Greg is survived by his wife Kelli; four children, Melissa “Missy” Blankenship and her husband Paul Scott Lawson and Amy Johnson, Mitchell Lawson and his wife Leslie and Kelsi Lawson, all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Meliyah, Abbi, Tommia, Tyler and Ryker; his mother, Donna Lawson of Phillipsburg; two brothers, Ronny Lawson of Lebanon, and Tommy J. Lawson and his wife Juanita of Phillipsburg; mother-in-law, Dianna Bryant of Lebanon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Keri Eilenstine, Jim Bryant and Stacy Shireman and their families; life long friends, Steve Johnson and Brent McClanahan; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and countless friends.

Funeral services for Gregory Gene “Greg’’ Lawson will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with Pastor David Douglas officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, also at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.

Memorials have been suggested to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Donations may be left at or mailed to Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, 1001 Lynn Street, Lebanon, Mo. 65536.
