JAMES FRANKLIN SING

James Franklin Sing was born to Melvin Sing and Marie Boggs Sing on September 9, 1940 in Winnipeg, Missouri. He was the oldest of seventeen children. He passed into eternal rest on Saturday, October 28, 2023 in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehab. At the time of his passing, he was eighty-three years, one month and nineteen days of age.

James was raised in the Lebanon area and had a career in logging and concrete work. He later owned a self-storage business and worked as a car dealer. He had a good sense of humor and made friends wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter and son, Rebecca and James; his sister, Virginia Price; and four brothers, Bennie, Jack, Glen and Larmon Sing.

James is survived by four daughters, Teresa Hill and husband, Thomas, Edith Johnson and Husband Cecil, Rose Howe and husband, Ray and Janice Starnes and husband, Rick, all of Lebanon; his son, Kyle Pate and wife, Emily of Blue Springs; five brothers, Johnny Sing of Edmond, Oklahoma, Gilbert Sing of Fulton, Missouri, Don Sing, Kenny Sing and Keith Sing, all of Lebanon; six sisters, Mavis Sauerbrei of Hardy, Arkansas, Edna Yates, Mae McNabb, Dencie Cyr, Venita Brown and Paula Cornelia, all of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and many niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on float trips. Among other pastime activities, he enjoyed gathering with friends and playing poker, and was also known as an exceptional pool player. He liked going out to eat and breakfast was always his favorite meal.

He was loyal to family and friends and valued the relationships he had made with so many people. He was proud of his large family and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.

James was a wonderful man that loved his family and loved life. He leaves a legacy of hard work and love for others. The stories that he shared and the memories that were made will be a part of many lives for years to come.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Porter Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the family and donations can be made through the funeral home.
