James "Jim" Carlton Hall

James “Jim” Carlton Hall was born July 13, 1935, in Pender, Nebraska to John and Catherine Hall. He passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Ravenwood Arbor in Springfield, Missouri. He was eighty-eight years, ten months and twenty-six days of age at the time of his passing.

Jim grew up on an Iowa farm and graduated high school in Iowa. On December 18, 1954, he was united in marriage to Margaret Jensen. They resided in Denver, Colorado while Jim attended the University of Denver. While he was attending college, he was drafted in the United States Army. He served in Japan in Army Intelligence during the Korean Way.

After obtaining his engineering degree, he and Margaret settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they raised their only child, Jimmy. Jim was employed with Honeywell in the munitions development department. Following his retirement as a design engineer, Jim and Margaret settled on their acreage near Richland, Missouri where Jim enjoyed being outdoors and working on his property.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his son James “Jimmy” Cameron Hall; and a sister, Lucy May Claussen.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Margaret; two brothers, John Hall and his wife Berniece of Omaha, Nebraska and Frank Hall and his wife Jewell of San Diego, California; his grandson, Liam Hall and granddaughter Sabrina Hall, both of Shakopee, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jim loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles and touring with his friends. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved living his life on the farm.

Jim was a hard worker and was a mentor and leader in his field. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. A visitation will follow the service. A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
