Marvin Bernell Naugle passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. At the time of his passing, he was eighty-four years, five months and seven days of age.

Marvin was born to Osborn William Naugle and Alvest Pearl Fleetwood on April 12, 1939, in Sidney, Iowa. At six months of age, he moved to Ava, Mo. and attended school there. He grew up picking fruit from Missouri, to Washington and California, helping out with living expenses.

Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was a SeaBees and learned so much about construction. He was a wonderful “fix-it” man and his family said he could fix anything. While in the Navy, he was stationed in Ventura, Calif. While in the Navy, he married his long-time sweetheart, Louise Johnson in Ava, Mo. They were married on July 2, 1959, and together they shared over fifty-five years of happiness and memories while raising their four children.

Marvin owned and operated the first rural paramedic service in Southwest Missouri. He had locations in Ava, Mansfield, West Plains, Cassville, Aurora and Mountain Grove. He had a heart for helping others.

In the early nineties, he and Louise moved to Lebanon.

Marvin was a faithful and devout man. He taught Sunday School and attended First United Methodist Church.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and his dear wife, Louise, who passed away Feb. 12, 2015.

He is survived by his three daughters, Marlene Pyeatt and husband, David of Bolivar, Diane Dye and husband, Leslie of Nixa, and Valerie Massey and husband, Doug of Strafford; one son, Bruce Naugle and wife, Lorie of Lebanon’ several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Deana Korpon of Lebanon.

Marvin loved doing crossword puzzles and doing research on the computer. He liked being outdoors and enjoyed fishing in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks.

Marvin leaves his loved ones a legacy of love and devotion to God and his country. We celebrate the profound impact he had on the lives of those he touched.
