Ray Keith Lewis was born May 7, 1937, in Lebanon, to the late Lynos L. Lewis and Alta “Lorene” Layman Lewis. He entered into his eternal home Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023. At the time of his passing, Keith was eighty-six years, four months and twenty-seven days.
Keith had a twin brother, Kenneth, and was one of seven children. He spent his life in Lebanon, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1955. On June 18, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart and true love, Linda Lea Scott. They shared over sixty-eight years together, making wonderful memories and standing by each other through the good times, as well as the difficult times. Linda passed away March 21, 2023.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Gier and husband, Bruce of Eldon, Kelly Vaughn and husband, Johnny of Lebanon; his son, Kevin Lewis and wife, Lori of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Tara Crawford and husband, Shane of Republic, Ryan Gier and wife, Lupita of Eldon, Paige Wilson and husband Skyler of Eldon, Maggie Koehler and husband, Seth of Lebanon, and Sydney Lewis of Springfield; his great-grandchildren, Myah, Ellen, Noah, Andre’ and Maelynn; his twin brother, Kenneth Lewis of Lebanon; and five sisters, Glenda Jones, Betty Lowrance, Janet Howe, Judy Parnell, all of Lebanon, and Sandra Cumbea of Louisville, Kentucky.
Keith loved the Lord and was a member of White Oak Pond Cumberland Presbyterian Church and later became a member of Second Baptist Church. He was active in church as long as his health would allow.
He had a successful career as a truck driver and enjoyed seeing many sights across the country. He met so many people, making friends along the way.
He enjoyed being home and farming. He loved his family so much and looked forward to family gatherings. He was a big story-teller and had a wonderful sense of humor. Keith never met a stranger and loved to talk.
He was a dependable, hard worker and a man of his word. His loss is deeply felt by his family, and he will be so missed.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial was in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausolem. A memorial to Hospice Compasses has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
