Robert Ewing “Bob’’ Pruitt

Robert Ewing “Bob” Pruitt, 83, of Lebanon, Missouri, died June 30, 2024, at Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab. He was born at home, June 27, 2941, in Labette County, Kansas, to Ewing T. and Dollie Clark Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Wilma Mullinix, LaDonna Stephenson and Mary Horrom; and a brother, Raymond Pruitt.

He attended Lebanon Senior High School and CalPoly Tech in Pomona, California, and was a Certified Purchasing Manager. He worked for more than 30 years for the Parsons Energy & Chemical Co. as Purchasing Manager on construction projects for ARCO, BP, Mobil, Shell, Parsons Pacific Corp, Seoul, and Alyeska Pipeline in the US and many different countries. He retired while working as field materials Purchasing Manager for Shell Canada in Edmonton, Alberta in the Athabaska Tarsands field at Ft. Saskatchewan and returned to Lebanon.

He proudly served his country for four years as a member of the US Marine Corps after high school, serving aboard the USS Princeton for two years making two Southeast Asian deployments and then with the 1st Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, California and then at Marine Corps Recruit Depot., San Diego, California.

He professed his faith to Christ at an early age and has regularly attended Brownfield Baptist Church for many years. He loved his friends and family and hopes to be missed by all.

He is survived by his estranged wife Joyce of California; a daughter, Lori Ann Pruitt of Lewiston, Idaho; three grandsons, Bryan Pruitt of Yelm, Washington, Eric (Kylee) Hamblin and Anthony Hamblin of Kalama, Washington; and eight great-grandchildren, Michael, James, Aeris, Trinity, Asher Pruitt, Locke, Vela, Carter, and Atticus Hamblin. He also has one great-great-grandson, Michael Pruitt, Jr.; his sisters, Eileen Barlow (Welton), Sara Zielinski (Ron), Patty Alexander (Miles/deceased), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

At Bob’s request, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service and burial in Neosho County, Kansas will be scheduled at a later date.
